Laity Involvement
I appreciate the way that the Episcopal Church
gets the laity involved. It helped me to become fully engaged in Calvary.
I participate as a lay reader and have served on the Vestry. Rev. Bill
Strain asked me to serve on the Vestry and since I’ve always been a
numbers kind of guy, I agreed.
Giving is both a
connection to Calvary and a spiritual practive. I’ve always had the 10%
held up as an objective and have felt that it was important to look upon
it as a goal. So many charities come at us; with the church I know where
the contribution goes. I give to other charities as well, but Calvary is
the primary one.
