Meals on
Wheels
Members of Calvary volunteer to deliver Meals on Wheels locally on
Thursdays for just two months a year. Our next assignment is in
November. There are five Thursdays in the month, and one is a holiday; so we
will need more than the usual number of dedicated people.
Teams of two deliver the meals. It takes approximately two hours in the
middle of the day. (11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.) Newcomers can be paired
with an experienced partner.

Meals on Wheels is a
program of SAGE (Summit Association for Gerontological Endeavor). The
program provides professionally planned meals meeting one-third of the
recommended dietary allowance to area residents 60 and over who are
unable to prepare meals for themselves. A choice of 1 or 2 meals is
delivered at midday to the home 5 or 6 days a week.
