Worship at Calvary
Our parish has strong traditions of worship and music. Our liturgy, from the Book of Common Prayer, follows the order of services printed in the bulletin.

Sunday morning worship includes two services, the 8:00 a.m. Holy Eucharist Rite I and the 10:00 a.m. Eucharistic Rite II, which includes the Adult Choir and the St. Ceclia Choir. The Cradle Room, staffed with experienced caregivers, is available for children three and under.

Believing that the altar in the church is God’s, not our own, we invite all who are baptized or believe in Jesus to share communion, including children. Receive the bread wafer in your outstretched palm, then take a sip of wine or dip the wafer lightly when the chalice comes to you.

We welcome you to worship in the way you find most comfortable. There are also opportunities actively assist in the celebration:

Acolytes and Crucifers
Young people in 6th grade and above are trained as acolytes and can become crucifers when they begin 9th grade. Contact: Libby Mell

Altar Guild
The Guild sets up the sanctuary or chapel for the Eucharist and other sacraments and cares for all of the materials used in conducting the Eucharist. Contact: Audrey Byrne

Banners
Volunteers create commemorative baptismal banners used during the processional and presented to the family. Contact: Nancy Swift

Children’s Chapel
Children are invited to attend a Children’s Chapel service each week during the Sunday 10:00 a.m. service. More

Collection Counters
After each service, the collection counter organize and total the collections, record the amount and deposit it at the bank. Contact: Charles Rice

Flower Chapter
The Chapter provides the flowers for the altar. After the service, members deliver the flowers to people of the Parish who are sick or homebound. Contact: Jean Stufflebeem

Lay Readers, Chalicists and Intercessors
These are men and women whose ministry is to read the Lessons, lead the intercessory prayers of the people and assist the clergy with the serving of the Eucharist.

Ushers
Men and women create a welcoming, relaxing atmosphere for worship by serving those who enter our doors. Robert Jones Ushers for the 8:00AM service can also contact Charles Rice.
